Founded in 2009, Kiva emerged from founder Josée Madore’s European travels, where she discovered charming local boutiques and recognized an opportunity to bring that experience to Pointe-Claire.

The Vision. Madore, an experienced fashion designer with over 15 years in women’s sportswear, identified a local gap: boutiques that offered a personalized touch and a distinctive selection beyond mainstream brands. She sought to create a destination emphasizing quality fabrics, flattering comfort, and a modern, timeless aesthetic.

Growth & Expansion. What began as a modest 790-square-foot shop quickly expanded to include approximately thirty carefully selected brands. In 2017, the boutique doubled in size, enabling fashion shows, private events, and workshops.

The Name. “Kiva” was chosen for being memorable across French and English, embodying strength and confidence, and representing “la vie Kiva” — a lifestyle emphasizing motion, action, and style. Today, the boutique is more than a retail space; it’s a vibrant community where women connect, share, and celebrate fashion together across Montreal’s West Island.
